Registration open for Challenger Flag Football League

Posted Jun 22, 2017

Now entering its 13th season, the program will provide over 250 children and young adults with disabilities the opportunity to participate in a structured flag football league.

The Panthers are partnering with Park & Recreation departments across the Carolinas to announce registration is now open for the team’s popular Challenger Flag Football League. The league is designed to provide a safe, structured team experience for children and young adults with physical and developmental disabilities and is administered locally by Park & Recreation partner agencies. League play will begin August and September and will conclude with a regional jamboree tournament on the Panthers practice fields in October.

The Panthers provide funding support and other resources so the program may be offered at no cost or low cost to participants.

“The Panthers are proud to partner with Park & Recreation departments across the region to provide the Challenger League experience to deserving children and young adults,” said Riley Fields, Panthers director of community relations. “The enthusiasm shared by players, volunteers, parents and everyone associated with the program is a testament to the meaningful experience created by the Challenger League program.”
