Panthers add Sam Tecklenburg to active roster

Sam Tecklenburg

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers filled their vacant roster spot with one of their own.

The team moved center Sam Tecklenburg up from the practice squad.

He replaces guard John Miller, who was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday.

The 24-year-old Tecklenburg spent last year on the practice squad as well, and got increased work this preseason (including playing every snap of the Colts game).

To fill Tecklenburg's spot on the practice squad, they signed cornerback John Brannon. The Western Carolina product was on the Chargers practice squad last year, and went to camp with the Chargers this year.
