2019 Mock Draft Report: Post-Combine Edition

Here are some thoughts on the mock draft projections for Carolina following the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine:

  • Mississippi State edge rusher Montez Sweat was the most popular pick for the Panthers prior to the combine, but many analysts now believe he'll be off the board before Carolina is on the clock. That was the case in five of the six mock drafts featured above, the one exception being Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports, who tabbed Sweat at No. 16.
  • Michigan defensive lineman Rashan Gary is a new name in the mix. He performed well at the combine but didn't produce at an elite level in college. Still, the former five-star recruit has been listed as a top-10 pick by some. Another new name is Florida State's Brian Burns, a tremendous pass-rushing athlete who is facing questions about his strength and power.
  • A good mix of offensive tackles are featured. Some view Jonah Williams as the most technically sound pass protector in the draft while others believe his NFL future is at guard. Andre Dillard wowed everyone with his athleticism in Indy, and some see him as the best tackle available. Greg Little didn't test particularly well at the combine, but scouts feel he's got traits to succeed as a left tackle in the NFL.
