SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Here's a reminder that social media can be used for good.
Earlier this month, Sarah Haight wrote a Facebook post describing the dream of her 5-year-old son. Cam Haight wanted to meet Cam Newton, not just because they share the same name, but the littler Cam had a gift for the more famous Cam.
Cam Haight was born with Amniotic Band Syndrome, a condition that caused limb deformities to his hands and feet. So he and his mom eventually launched Different Heroes, a non-profit that helps those with ABS, a mission that includes 3-D printing prosthetics.
To raise awareness for their cause, the Haights recently made Newton his own 3D-printed hand in hopes they'd be able to give it to the Panthers star.
Just over a week after that Facebook post caught fire causing multiple media outlets to pick up on the story, Cam met Cam:
