Comments from Carolina Panthers head coach John Fox following the team's practice.
On injuries: Did not participate -Jimmy Clausen (concussion), Marcus Hudson (ankle), Charles Johnson (hip), Brandon LaFell (concussion), Jonathan Stewart (concussion), Tyrell Sutton (ankle) and Travelle Wharton (toe). Limited participation - Jon Beason (knee), Greg Hardy (concussion) and Nic Harris (knee).
On who will start at quarterback versus the Baltimore Ravens: Brian St. Pierre.
On why he decided to start Brian St. Pierre: The guy has been in some games. He was with us last week, picked up the offense pretty quickly. He spits the ball out quick and makes good decisions.
On why he did not decide to start rookie Tony Pike: He might get experience, but right now we think that Brian St. Pierre gives us the best chance starting wise and that's the route we're going.
On if Pike is not ready to start yet: Yeah. We went with Jimmy last week and got to look at it. We'll go from there.
On how much of the offense St. Pierre will know before the game on Sunday: We've got a game plan in just like we do every week, and that's why we're out here practicing. No different than any week.
On if quarterback Jimmy Clausen definitely will not play against the Ravens: He did not participate (today).
On how this is unlike 2007 when the Panthers signed quarterback Vinny Testaverde on a Wednesday and he started on Sunday: How's that? It kind of is what it is.
On what St. Pierre has done to catch his eye in practice this week: Just a presence. The fact that he's been in a huddle a number of times and called plays in an NFL game. That would be it.
