CHARLOTTE -- Defensive tackle Kawann Short is headed to the Pro Bowl as a replacement for Aaron Donald, who is playing in the Super Bowl with the Rams.
This is the second Pro Bowl selection for Short, who could not participate the All-Star game the first time because the Panthers were playing in Super Bowl 50. He joins guard Trai Turner as Carolina's Pro Bowl representatives in Orlando.
Short finished the 2018 season with three sacks and 12 tackles for loss, a number that tied for fourth among defensive tackles in the NFL this season. He also had a forced fumble.
Since 2015, Short has tied for third in the NFL among defensive tackles with 27.5 sacks. His 47 tackles for loss over that span are also third among NFL defensive tackles.
