Panthers waive running back Jordan Scarlett

Jordan Scarlett versus Bills

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers on Sunday waived 2019 fifth-round pick Jordan Scarlett. The move corresponds to kicker/punter Kaare Vedvik passing COVID-19 testing protocols to be added to the 80-man active roster.

Scarlett appeared in nine games as a rookie, mainly contributing on special teams. The Florida product notably recovered a fumbled punt during the Panthers' victory over the Buccaneers in London. He finished the year with four carries for 9 yards.

Scarlett's rookie year ended when he suffered injuries to his knee and ankle last season in the Week 12 loss to the Saints. He was placed on injured reserve on Nov. 29.

Carolina claimed Vedvik off waivers from the Bills on Thursday.
