Joe Dailey joins the Panthers staff as wide receivers coach in 2022 after holding assistant positions at Boston College (2020-21), New Mexico (2019), Liberty (2012-18), Bethune-Cookman (2011), Kansas (2010) and Buffalo (2008-09). Dailey played college football at Nebraska and North Carolina.
Joe Dailey comes to Carolina as the team's wide receivers coach in 2022 after 14 seasons of experience as an assistant at the college level, most recently at Boston College.
Dailey has held assistant positions at Boston College (2020-21), New Mexico (2019), Liberty (2012-18), Bethune-Cookman (2011), Kansas (2010) and Buffalo (2008-09). He played college football at Nebraska and North Carolina.
Over the last two seasons at BC, Dailey worked with Zay Flowers, an All-ACC first teamer in 2020 who ranked second in the ACC and 18th in the nation with 892 receiving yards and 12th nationally with nine touchdown catches. As a team, Boston College ranked 24th in the nation in passing offense (284.2).
Dailey came to Boston from New Mexico, where he served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2019. The Lobos were third in the MWC with 205.3 rushing yards per game that season.
Prior to New Mexico, Dailey spent seven seasons on staff at Liberty from 2012-18. He started as quarterbacks coach before becoming the offensive coordinator in 2014. In his final season with the Flames, Liberty was 34th nationally in points per game (33.3) and 46th in yards per game (422.9).
Over his seven seasons with Liberty, the Flames won four league titles, advanced to the FCS Playoffs once and never had a losing season.
Dailey got his start in coaching at the University at Buffalo, where he served as an offensive graduate assistant in 2008 before becoming tight ends coach in 2009. He then worked at Kansas (2010) as a recruiting coordinator and Bethune-Cookman (2011) as quarterbacks coach.
Dailey played college football at Nebraska before transferring to North Carolina in 2006. Over the course of his career, he threw for 3,458 yards and 26 touchdowns.
A native of Freehold, N.J., Dailey and his wife Carrie have four children, Stella, Noah, Myles and Tyson.
