CHARLOTTE--The Carolina Panthers have announced the dates for offseason programs, such as rookie minicamp, OTA offseason workouts and mandatory minicamp.

The club will welcome their rookie class on May 10, hosting rookie minicamp from May 10-12. The weekend will allow coaches to get the rookie class on the field for the first time with the playbook.

The Panthers drafted seven players last weekend, with one in each round. They are as follows:

  • WR Xavier Legette (Round 1, Pick 32)
  • RB Jonathon Brooks (Round 2, Pick 46)
  • LB Trevin Wallace (Round 3, Pick 72)
  • TE Ja'Tavion Sanders (Round 4, Pick 101)
  • DB Chau Smith-Wade (Round 5, Pick 157)
  • DT Jaden Crumedy (Round 6, Pick 200)
  • LB Michael Barrett (Round 7, Pick 240)

Take a closer look at all seven new Panthers draftees from first-rounder Xavier Legette to seventh-rounder Michael Barrett from their stellar collegiate runs.

The Panthers were also allowed an extra week of on field work with current players since the team has a new head coach this season. Players will return for the first set of OTA's (organized team activity) on May 20-21. Those OTA's will happen periodically between May 20 and June 6 (full dates below).

Dave Canales and crew will then hold mandatory minicamp from June 11-13.

Voluntary offseason workout programs are intended to provide training, teaching, and physical conditioning for players.

As per Article 21 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, each club's official, voluntary nine-week offseason program is conducted in three phases:

Phase 1 consists of the first two weeks of the program with activities limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only.

Phase 2 (which they're in now) consists of the next three weeks of the program. On-field workouts may include individual or group instruction and drills, as well as "perfect play drills," and drills and plays with offensive players lining up across from offensive players and defensive players lining up across from defensive players, conducted at a walk-through pace. No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted.

Phase 3 consists of the next four weeks of the program. Teams may conduct a total of 10 days of organized team practice activity, or "OTAs". No live contact is permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are permitted.

Article 22 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement stipulates that clubs may hold one mandatory minicamp for veteran players. This minicamp, noted below, must occur during either week three or week four of Phase 3 of the offseason program.

Each club may hold a rookie football development program for a period of seven consecutive weeks, which in 2024 may begin on May 13. During this period, no activities may be held on weekends, with the exception of one three-day post-Draft rookie minicamp, which may be conducted on either the first or second weekend following the draft.

The Panthers dates are as follows:

  • OTA offseason workouts:
    • May 20-21, May 23, May 28-29, May 31, June 3-4, June 6
  • Mandatory minicamp:
    • June 11-13
  • Rookie minicamp:
    • May 10-12
