Panthers claim TE Lucas

CHARLOTTE – Tight end Marcus Lucas is rejoining the Panthers.

Carolina claimed Lucas off waivers from the Chicago Bears. Waived in the final roster cutdown prior to the 2015 regular season, Lucas spent limited time on practice squads in Chicago and Miami last season.

A 6-4, 220-pounder, Lucas was signed by the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri in 2014. He was a wide receiver in college and started out there with the Panthers before moving to tight end.

The Panthers now have 89 players on their 90-man roster.
