Panthers tender Andrew Norwell

Posted Mar 7, 2017

Carolina tenders restricted free agent guard Andrew Norwell and two exclusive rights free agents - center Tyler Larsen and punter Michael Palardy.

CHARLOTTE – The Panthers have placed a second-round tender on restricted free agent guard Andrew Norwell to retain his rights for the 2017 season.

By tendering a contract to Norwell, Carolina has the right of first refusal on any contract offers made by other teams to Norwell by the April 21 deadline. The Panthers would receive a second-round draft pick if they chose to not match an offer.

Norwell has played in 39 games with 38 starts in three seasons with Carolina. The former undrafted free agent from Ohio State, who has earned admiration from teammates and coaches with his relentless effort, started all 16 games at left guard in 2016.

The Panthers also tendered two exclusive rights free agents – center Tyler Larsen and punter Michael Palardy, both of whom made their NFL debuts in 2016 when injuries forced them into action.

Larsen played in nine games and made five starts. Palardy played in seven games, recording a 42.5 gross average with a 37.9 net and 13 punts inside the 20.
