CHARLOTTE — The Panthers added some cornerback depth prior to the first practice of camp.

The team signed cornerback Tre Swilling Wednesday morning.

The 26-year-old Swilling was most recently with the Jets, and has spent time with the Titans, Saints, 49ers, and Ravens. He's appeared in three games.

He's also the son of former Saints, Lions, and Raiders linebacker Pat Swilling.

To make room for him on the 90-man, the Panthers waived rookie quarterback Ethan Garbers, leaving three quarterbacks on the roster.
