CHARLOTTE — The Panthers made a move to get younger on the defensive line and create cap room on Tuesday, releasing veteran defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson.

The 30-year-old Robinson spent the last two seasons with the Panthers, starting 32 games and collecting 145 tackles and 8.0 sacks.

The former second-round pick from Alabama has also spent time with the Lions, Rams, and Giants in his 10 seasons in the league.

Robinson carried a lot of weight for the Panthers in 2024 when Derrick Brown was injured and missed 16 games, responding with a career-high 80 tackles and 5.5 sacks.

But with the return of Brown, along with the free agent acquisitions of Tershawn Wharton and Bobby Brown III, plus the addition of fifth-round rookie Cam Jackson, the Panthers are deeper up front than they've been in some time.
