CHARLOTTE — The Panthers filled the roster spot created Tuesday with the release of Josey Jewell by adding some depth at tight end.

The Panthers signed tight end Tyler Mabry, who worked out here earlier this week.

Mabry has been with the Seahawks since 2020, giving him background with head coach Dave Canales and position coach Pat McPherson. He has appeared in 10 games, and his one catch was for a 7-yard touchdown.

The Panthers will begin practice on Wednesday without veteran tight end Tommy Tremble, who was placed on the physically unable to perform list Monday after offseason back surgery.

The Panthers also placed defensive tackle Bobby Brown III on the active/non-football injury list.

He can be activated at any time during camp.
