CHARLOTTE — It may be the offseason, but there are no days off.

Bryce Young and a large portion of the Carolina Panthers receiving corps were on hand in Minnesota this week to get in a throwing session together ahead of the holiday weekend.

In addition to Young, the group included Adam Thielen, Xavier Legette, Tetairoa McMillan, Ja'Tavion Sanders, David Moore, Jimmy Horn Jr., and Kobe Hudson, from the shots shared on social media.

Minnesota is the offseason home of Thielen, and his Thielen Foundation has been hosting events in the state throughout the summer, including this week. Ryan Englebert of ETS Sports Performance led the session at a local high school.

This is one of the deeper receiving corps the Panthers have had in recent years, with two Pro Bowlers (Thielen and Hunter Renfrow) and two first-rounders (Legette and McMillan) in addition to the production from others in the group. With the level of competition raised, Thielen feels the entire offense will benefit.

"I think for the first time here since I've been here you look around the room and I don't know who's going to make the team, and that's a great thing," Thielen said during mandatory minicamp. "That competition breeds just elevation of play and you hear Dan (Morgan) and Dave (Canales) talk about that all the time, they just want to raise the floor, and when you raise the floor, it raises the ceiling, so I'm excited about what that brings.

"I know it's made me have to step up my game, and get better and better and prove my worth. At the end of the day, the more players you have in a room, on the offense, on a team, the more you have to prove yourself every day and, it makes you better."

The Panthers return later this month for training camp, which is set to start on July 23.
