CHARLOTTE — The Panthers announced their captains for the 2025 season on Monday, and head coach Dave Canales has some experience to lean on in the locker room.
Captains were decided in a vote by players, and quarterback Bryce Young, defensive tackle Derrick Brown, and veteran long snapper JJ Jansen were chosen.
The Panthers will also have a rotating weekly captain.
Young is a captain for a third straight season, while Brown keeps the title for a second consecutive year. Jansen is a captain for a third season, having held that post in 2021 and 2022.
Jansen is the franchise's all-time leader in games played with 260, which is 41st all-time and second among active players (one game behind Calais Campbell).
