CHARLOTTE — The Panthers have released their depth chart ahead of the Week 13 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
For now, the depth chart remains the same as last week.
There could be coming changes later in the week, due to injuries, but those are tentative. The most pressing of those is corner Corey Thornton. Coach Dave Canales told reporters on Tuesday that the rookie—who stepped in after Jaycee Horn left Monday night with a concussion—would now require season-ending surgery for a broken fibula.
For the second straight week, linebacker Claudin Cherelus started in place of the injured Trevin Wallace, but Cherelus left Monday night's matchup with a concussion as well. He and Horn remain in the concussion protocol for the time being. Wallace is still considered week-to-week, and remains the starter at inside linebacker.
Linebacker Krys Barnes was elevated for the 49ers game, with both Wallace and Christian Rozeboom sidelined. It was Barnes' third elevation of the season. If he is to play again, he will have to be activated to the 53-man roster, something Canales said is in consideration.
Lastly, the Panthers are in wait-and-see mode with offensive lineman Chandler Zavala, who exited with a calf injury. Jake Curhan finished the game at right guard.
