"For me it was the coaches. I wanted some familiarity and I felt like I played my best ball under them," Jewell said when asked about coming to Carolina.

Goodwin talked to the media about his confidence in the run game and the talent he sees in the offensive line.

"There's a familiarity and trust with me and Dave that runs pretty deep," the new offensive coordinator said as he addressed the media for the first time.

Smith spoke for the first time since becoming the Panthers special teams coordinator and addressed the new kickoff rules, his possible returners and more.

The recently extended defensive tackle answered questions about his new contract and excitement about getting back to work.
