CHARLOTTE — Summer is about taking time off and relaxing with family and friends...unless you're the Carolina Panthers receiving corps, in which case it's about staying on the field, and getting in a little bit of relaxing when possible.
The majority of the Panthers receiving corps headed to Minnesota two weeks ago for what first appeared to be an offseason workout with quarterback Bryce Young. But rookie receiver Tetairoa McMillan shared an extended behind the scenes look on Tuesday to what was actually an extended retreat.

Panthers' receivers McMillan, Xavier Legette, Adam Thielen, David Moore, Jimmy Horn Jr., Kobe Hudson, and tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders were joined by quarterbacks Young and Ethan Garbers for three days in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where Adam Thielen lives during the offseason.
As McMillan showed, the group started each day with a workout, then field work, running routes on air with Young and Garbers.
"We're about to have a good little bonding time," Horn said early the first day.

Cameras followed along as the group collectively went to a WNBA game that first night, supporting the Minnesota Lynx. The real content though came on the second day, when Thielen took the guys out on a boat for some water sports on a local lake. After teaching Moore and McMillan how to wake board, the group worked to coax Legette into the lake despite some understandable concerns, because why would someone step into a body of water when they can't see what's on bottom.
The group got in one more day of work before heading out that afternoon. McMillan noted the importance of working with Young as much as possible, and with each other.
"Building a relationship with Bryce has been easy just because he's a Cali kid himself, I feel like we have a lot of similarities," McMillan said. "I think me and him have the same aspirations. He's going into, I believe his third year, and the sky's the limit for him.
"My energy and his energy (is) only going to motivate each other and hopefully we can spread that throughout the team and see how far we can take it."

The team will report early next week, before taking to the field on Wednesday, July 23 for the first day of training camp practice. Dave Canales preaches focusing on each other, and "us." As they come together for camp and the season, McMillan is doing just that.
"I don't know what a good team looks like, and I don't know what a bad team looks like, but I know football, and I know that the players on this team, we got some people that can go," he said as the vlog concluded. "We got a good mentality. I feel like we're all striving for the same things."
