CHARLOTTE – The Panthers have agreed to terms with five college free agents following the 2017 NFL Draft. Carolina also waived cornerback Tyler Patmon.
In addition to securing Clemson linebacker Ben Boulware and Mississippi State wide receiver Fred Ross, the Panthers acquired Florida defensive end Bryan Cox, Charlotte wide receiver Austin Duke and Notre Dame cornerback Cole Luke.
These agreements will not become official until each player signs his contract upon reporting to the team's rookie minicamp May 5-6.
Cox is the son of former NFL linebacker Bryan Cox, who was the defensive line coach for the Atlanta Falcons from 2014-16. He recorded 98 career tackles and 9.5 sacks.
Duke finished his career with 253 receptions for 3,437 yards and 24 receiving touchdowns for the 49ers.
Luke posted eight career interceptions and 24 passes defensed for the Fighting Irish.
