The more obvious positional needs are on defense, but Sadiq would give Bryce Young a second elite downfield threat to pair with Tetairoa McMillan. J.T. Sanders and Tommy Tremble combined for just three touchdowns last season – Sadiq had eight in 2025 and would help a Carolina offense that ranked 24th in red-zone success.

While pass rusher is a need, the buzz at the combine was that the Panthers would address that need through free agency or trade. So let's go offensive tackle, as left tackle Ikem Ekwonu's knee injury in the playoffs magnifies Carolina's need there. The Panthers could try a short-term fix through free agency, but Fano could provide a long-term answer as Ekwonu recovers. Fano can play all five positions up front, which would give the Panthers flexibility as they reshape their line.

Young is currently a better run defender than pass rusher, but he's also a big culture player. Missouri coaches say the relentless edge practices like he's in the middle of a game.

Allen had a quiet combine, as he did not test while a lot of other linebackers were making headlines, but he remains one of the more promising three-down linebackers in the class. He possesses mid-first-round talent and could be the green-dot middle linebacker for the Panthers in year one.

This isn't the Panthers' biggest need, but it's also unclear when LT Ikem Ekwonu will be fully recovered from a late-season knee injury, and he's entering the final year of his rookie deal. Proctor, meanwhile, is a built-in-a-lab specimen who can take over games when he's focused.
