CHARLOTTE – The Panthers selected Montana State tight end Beau Sandland with the second to last pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

As a senior in 2015, Sandland (6-4, 253) recorded 37 catches for 632 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.

He originally started his career at Pierce College in California before transferring to Miami. He played in all 13 games for the Hurricanes in 2013, catching nine passes for 94 yards and one touchdown as a junior.

Sandland transferred to Montana State in search of more playing time to improve his NFL chances.

"I can really be an all-around tight end," Sandland said. "I'm balanced enough to where I can be a complete tight end if that's what I am asked to do."
