NFC South: Saints 4th, Panthers 7th, Buccaneers 21st, Falcons 24th
This week's opponent: Ravens 10th

Beyond the numbers: Frank Schwab is still buzzing from the Panthers' historic comeback win vs. Philadelphia. "You won't see many teams, on the road against a team as good as the Eagles, overcome a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit," said Schwab. "Credit to Cam Newton for making plays, and everyone else on the Panthers as well. Huge victory for them."

Beyond the numbers: Despite saying they're good, analyst Gary Davenport does not know what to make of Carolina after Week 7. "At least, I think they're good—they're 4-2 with wins over contenders in Philadelphia and Cincinnati. But I don't know how seriously I can take them as a legitimate threat in the NFC," Davenport wrote. "They just can't seem to put together two good games in row, and that lack of consistency is going to cost them at some point."

Previous rank: 13th

This week's opponent: Ravens 7th

Beyond the numbers: The ESPN Staff zeroed in on the players they want to see more from on each team, and tight end Greg Olsen got the call. They consider the fact that Olsen missed some time but still note that the Panthers' tight ends are averaging 27 yards per game, the third fewest in the NFL. The staff believes that has to change sooner rather than later.

Panthers rank: 10th (5th in NFC)
Previous rank: 15th

NFC South: Saints 2nd, Panthers 10th, Falcons 21st, Buccaneers 22nd
This week's opponent: Ravens 6th

Beyond the numbers: Pete Prisco lauds the Panthers' Week 7 victory as a sort of resurrection for head coach Ron Rivera's squad, saying, "It might be the game that gets them back looking like a real contender."
