Here's where the Panthers stand in various power rankings following their win against the Ravens.

Panthers rank: 6th (3rd in NFC)
Previous rank: 7th

NFC South: Saints 4th, Panthers 6th, Falcons 20th, Buccaneers 25th
This week's opponent: Buccaneers 25th

Beyond the numbers: Elliot Harrison handed out game balls to the offense for pouring 36 points on the Ravens' No. 1 defense. Harrison singled out quarterback Cam Newton, running back Christian McCaffrey and rookie wide receiver DJ Moore for their performances.

Previous rank: 9th

NFC South: Saints 3rd, Panthers 6th, Falcons 17th, Buccaneers 25th
This week's opponent: Buccaneers 25th

Beyond the numbers: Despite the Panthers being 5-2 coming into Week 9, David Newton is a little weary of how often they've had to play catch-up. In their last three games, the Panthers' opponents combined to outscore them 41-0 before Carolina mounted comeback efforts.

Previous rank: 8th

NFC South: Saints 3rd, Panthers 6th, Falcons 19th, Buccaneers 21st
This week's opponent: Buccaneers 21st

Beyond the numbers: After struggling to understand head coach Ron Rivera's crew, Week 8's dominant showing seemingly helped analyst Gary Davenport figure some things out. "One week they'd look like gangbusters, only to come out flat the next," Davenport wrote. "Carolina absolutely carried over the momentum from that Eagles win to the Ravens game.

"This is a legitimately dangerous football team."

Previous rank: 7th

NFC South: Saints 3rd, Panthers 6th, Buccaneers 21st, Falcons 24th
This week's opponent: Buccaneers 21st

Beyond the numbers: McCaffrey has played 96.3 percent of the team's offensive snaps this season, and Frank Schwab took notice. "That's really high and rare usage for a running back," Schwab wrote. Against the Giants, he sat out two snaps, and, in Week 8, just one. That's something to keep an eye on as the 205-pound McCaffrey continues to be a workhorse for Norv Turner's offense.

Panthers rank: 8th (4th in NFC)
Previous rank: 10th

NFC South: Saints 2nd, Panthers 8th, Falcons 17th, Buccaneers 23rd
This week's opponent: Buccaneers 23rd

Beyond the numbers: Pete Prisco likes the direction Carolina's heading after an impressive victory. "They are getting better on offense by the week," he noted.
