Foxhole: WR mix coming together

Comments from Carolina Panthers head coach John Fox following the team's practice.

On injuries: Did not participate – Jeff Otah (knee) and Jamar Williams (neck). Limited participation – Dante Rosario (knee) and Travelle Wharton (knee). Full participation – Steve Smith (ankle).

On if he is happy with the way the defense is playing: Happy is all relative. They are showing steady improvement. I think we've definitely gotten better as we've gone. We need to continue to get better and find ways to win games.

On how quarterback Matt Moore has practiced this week: Good. He's had a good week of preparation and a good week of practice. Now we've got to go do it in a game – not just the quarterback.

On how the mix of newly acquired players and rookies are coming together at wide receiver: We're still moving along; we're five games into the season. It's no different than in the past when we've had injuries. Guys have got to step up. We're trying to find the right combination and we'll continue doing that moving forward.
