PANTHERS MOVE TO TOP OF POWER RANKINGS:Carolina has jumped to the top spot in the majority of power rankings among major media outlets following the 33-14 victory over Dallas and the Patriots' loss to Denver on Sunday night. Elliot Harrison of NFL.com writes that the Panthers silenced doubters with their Thanksgiving Day performance and that quarterback Cam Newton remains a top candidate for MVP. ESPN notes that the Carolina offense is starting to click while the defense leads the NFL in defensive scoring during the 15-game regular-season winning streak. FoxSports, Pro Football Talk and USA Today all moved the Panthers to the number one spot on their lists as well.
