CHARLOTTE – The Panthers have acquired defensive end Jared Allen in a trade with the Chicago Bears, pending a physical. Carolina sent a conditional 2016 draft choice in exchange.

Allen, a five-time Pro Bowler and four-time All Pro selection, has 134 career sacks, which ranks ninth all-time. In 2011, he recorded 22 sacks, tied for the second most in NFL history.

Allen spent the first four seasons of his prolific career with the Kansas City Chiefs, before six years with the Minnesota Vikings. He joined the Bears in 2014.

Through three games in 2015, Allen has posted five tackles and one interception.
