Panthers bring back TE Scott Simonson

CHARLOTTE – The Panthers have brought back tight end Scott Simonson after waiving defensive end Lavar Edwards. Carolina LaDarius Gunter on Monday, giving the team four tight ends on the active roster.

Simonson was waived last week to make room for cornerback Lou Young, who has since been waived. Simonson played in Carolina's first five games and did not record a catch.

He played in nine games for the Panthers last season, recording the first catch of his career for 10 yards.

Edwards, who Carolina claimed off waivers at the start of the season, played in five games and recorded his first career sack against the Vikings in Week 3. He was splitting time at defensive and defensive tackle.
