CHARLOTTE – The Panthers have made several changes to the practice squad.

Tight end Scott Simonson, who played five games for Carolina and was waived last week, has been added to the practice squad along with offensive tackle Pearce Slater, an undrafted rookie from San Diego State who was waived by the Jaguars in the final roster cutdown.

To make room, the Panthers waived rookie tight end Beau Sandland, the team's seventh-round draft choice. Carolina also placed defensive tackle Eric Crume on the practice squad/injured list with a knee injury.

On Tuesday, the Panthers filled an open spot on the practice squad by adding defensive tackle Bruce Gaston, a third-year player now with his eighth team.
