CHARLOTTE – On the eve of free agency, the Panthers have re-signed linebacker Jordan Senn and tendered a contract to tight end/fullback Richie Brockel.

Senn could have become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year starts Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET. Brockel is an exclusive rights free agent.

While Senn would have been free to sign with any team beginning Tuesday, Brockel could have signed with another team only if the Panthers had decided against retaining his rights for 2013 by not making a tender offer at the appropriate league minimum.

Senn served as the Panthers' special teams captain in 2012 and ranked second on the team with 15 special teams tackles. He has 47 special teams stops since joining the Panthers for the final six games of the 2009 season and recorded 73 tackles on defense in 2011.

Brockel has played fullback, tight end and special teams in his two seasons with the Panthers. Brockel, who scored on a trick play in Week 14 of the 2011 season, has seen action in 27 career games with two starts
