CHARLOTTE – The Panthers have signed defensive tackle Chas Alecxih, who was a tryout player at the team's rookie minicamp.
Alecxih was signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent from Pittsburgh in 2012 and was a member of their practice squad for 15 games. He has also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers.
To make room on the 90-man roster, the Panthers waived guard Edmund Kugbila, who was a fourth-round draft choice from Valdosta State in 2013.
Kugbila's NFL career never quite got started due to injuries. He spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve with a left knee injury and all of 2014 on injured reserve with a back injury.
