SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Panthers have signed defensive tackle Drew Iddings, a former invited tryout who will fill the one open spot that remained on the 90-man roster.

The 6-foot-6, 290-pound Iddings recorded 26 tackles, including 9.5 tackles for loss, for the University of South Dakota as a senior in 2015.

Iddings spent the 2016 preseason with the Raiders as an undrafted rookie but was waived in the final roster cutdown. He was an invited tryout at Carolina's rookie minicamp in early May but wasn't signed, after which he attended the Saints' rookie minicamp. New Orleans tried him on the offensive side and signed him as a guard, only to waive him in early June.
