CHARLOTTE – The Panthers have found their punter.

Carolina acquired veteran Michael Palardy in a trade with the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a fourth-round draft choice in 2018 and punter Kasey Redfern. The Panthers also received a 2017 seventh-round pick from the Browns.

Lee is a three-time Pro Bowler and first-team All Pro selection. He ranks sixth in NFL history with a 46.2 gross punting average. He also ranks ninth all-time with 325 punts inside the 20-yard line.

Lee, a former sixth-round pick by San Francisco in 2004, punted in every game for the 49ers through the 2014 season. He was traded to the Browns prior to the 2015 season.

Last year, the Westminster, S.C., native set a single-season Browns record with a 46.7-yard gross average.
