Panthers waive S Hines

The Panthers have waived rookie safety Jermale Hines. He played in five games and recorded one tackle on defense and two on special teams after being claimed off waivers by Carolina from Indianapolis on Oct. 4.

The transaction gives the Panthers 52 players on the active roster and leaves them with an open spot that is expected to be filled on Wednesday.
