Stewart questionable versus Raiders

CHARLOTTE – For the first time since Week 12, Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart is not listed as doubtful or out on the injury report.

Stewart, who has been battling an ankle injury, is questionable for Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders after practicing in a limited fashion on Friday.

"We'll see how he is on Sunday," head coach Ron Rivera said.

With only two games remaining in the season and running backs DeAngelo Williams and Mike Tolbert performing well, the Panthers want to be careful about not rushing Stewart back.

"You have to be very smart about that," Rivera said. "All those things will go into consideration."

Center Geoff Hangartner (foot) is doubtful and likely to miss his second straight game.

Guard Garry Williams (illness) is questionable after coming down with what inflicted fellow linemen Byron Bell and Thomas Austin, who both practiced fully Friday and are probable.

"Apparently we didn't clean the (offensive line) room fast enough," Rivera joked.

Wide receiver Brandon LaFell (toe) and defensive tackle Dwan Edwards (wrist) practiced for the first time this week and are probable.

Defensive end Charles Johnson was given the day off.
