Read 20 is a foundational pillar of the 3rd & Goal community outreach initiative by the Carolina Panthers and Bank of America. Its mission is to improve early literacy outcomes by encouraging students in grades K–3 to read at least 20 minutes each day. The program aims to:
Support students in achieving grade-level reading proficiency by the end of 3rd grade.
Foster a lifelong love of reading through engaging experiences and resources.
Mobilize community and corporate partners to reinforce the importance of daily reading habits.
Help close literacy gaps and boost academic trajectories for young learners.
Play 60 Objective
Play 60 is a vital pillar of the 3rd & Goal initiative, developed by the Carolina Panthers and Bank of America, with support from Atrium Health. The program empowers K–3 students to build strong bodies and minds by engaging in at least 60 minutes of active play each day. Through movement, nutrition education, and community support, Play 60 helps children:
Develop lifelong habits of physical activity and healthy eating.
Strengthen their bodies to support mental focus and academic success.
Build confidence, teamwork, and resilience through play.
Learn the importance of wellness and self-care from trusted health partners.
Together with Atrium Health, Play 60 promotes a holistic approach to student well-being — encouraging kids to move more, eat well, and thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Feel 100 Objective
Feel 100 is the emotional wellness pillar of the 3rd & Goal initiative, created by the Carolina Panthers and Bank of America. With proud support from Blue Cross North Carolina, Feel 100 empowers K–3 students to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically by promoting daily practices that support mental well-being and emotional resilience.
The program helps students:
Build self-awareness, empathy, and emotional regulation.
Strengthen positive relationships and social skills.
Develop a sense of belonging, confidence, and purpose.
Access tools and support that foster whole-child development.
🟦 "Blue Cross North Carolina is proud to support the development of students' emotional well-being. As a dedicated partner of 3rd & Goal, we stand firmly behind the mission of the FEEL 100 pillar — empowering children to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically."
