CHARLOTTE – Linebacker Luke Kuechly (concussion protocol) remains sidelined, but safety Kurt Coleman returned to practice for the first time since suffering a knee injury against the Patriots in Week 4. Coleman was a limited participant.

"(Coleman) looked good," head coach Ron Rivera said. "He came out, did all the reps we had slated for him and looked good. I was pretty excited that we got in this morning and there wasn't any swelling. He's right on schedule."

Center Ryan Kalil, whose neck injury has sidelined him since Week 1, was also a limited participant.

Running back Fozzy Whitaker, who injured his ankle against the Eagles, did not participate in practice, along with Kuechly, wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin (knee), cornerback Demetrious Cox (ankle) and tackle John Theus (concussion protocol).
