CHARLOTTE – Panthers tight end Greg Olsen has been ruled out for the remainder of the Cowboys game with a foot injury.

Olsen walked to the locker room as the first quarter expired. He had two catches for 33 yards on the drive just before his departure. Rookie Ian Thomas – who made his first career reception earlier in the quarter – and Chris Manhertz will take over tight end duties for the rest of the day, with fullback Alex Armah available in that role in a pinch.

Olsen suffered a foot injury in Week 2 of last season that landed him on injured reserve, though he returned midseason. He entered the game questionable with a back injury.
