Career Highlights: Barnes began coaching in 1990. He has served as head wrestling coach, head baseball coach and assistant football coach and was promoted to Green Dragons head football coach in 2006. Barnes has earned coach of the year honors in wrestling and baseball as well as been the school's assistant athletic director since 1999.
Community Service: Barnes' student-athletes organized a competitive food drive against a rival high school where fans donated food items. Members of the coaching staff and several players helped start a community garden at the West Davidson Area Food Bank in the spring. The football team also volunteers at little league booster clubs - assisting with coaching, field maintenance, game operations, practice preparation and fundraising.
