Panthers announce staff changes

CHARLOTTE – Multiple changes have been made to the Panthers' coaching, scouting and football operations staffs.

Richard Rodgers will serve as the secondary coach and Jeff Imamura will serve as assistant secondary/cornerbacks coach. Rodgers and Imamura have been working together to guide the defensive backs following Curtis Fuller's resignation in the spring. In addition, the Panthers hired Vincent Rivera as defensive quality control coach.

Mark Carrier, who has served as the team's director of player engagement since 2011, has been named senior advisor to the general manager. Carrier played 12 seasons in the NFL as a wide receiver, spending the final four seasons (1995-98) of his career with the Panthers. Carrier notched a 1,000-yard receiving season in Carolina's inaugural season in 1995 and still ranks fifth in team history in career receiving yards with 2,547.

Jeff Morrow has been named senior director of college scouting following one season as the team's director of college scouting. Morrow has 23 years of NFL experience, including 20 with the Panthers.

College scouts Eric Stokes and Mike Szabo have been named regional directors of college scouting. Stokes has 20 years of playing and scouting experience in the NFL. He joined the Panthers in 2016 as southwest area scout. Prior to joining Carolina, Stokes was the assistant general manager of the Miami Dolphins from 2014-15. Szabo most recently served as Carolina's national scout and has 18 years of NFL experience, including 16 with the Panthers.

The Panthers have hired Mike Martin, who most recently served as the Houston Texans assistant director of college scouting, as southwest area scout. Martin brings 17 years of NFL personnel experience, including 14 years as a scout, to Carolina. He spent the previous 11 seasons with the Texans.

Pro scout Rob Hanrahan has been named assistant director of pro personnel. He joined the Panthers in 2017 after 16 seasons with the Buffalo Bills, including two seasons (2015-16) as the team's director of pro personnel.

Austin Bergstrom, who previously held roles in equipment and football operations, has been named college scouting coordinator.

Chris Herbert, who has worked in Carolina's video department for 18 seasons, has been named assistant video director.
