Luego de arrancar la temporada con una sufrida derrota en casa de último segundo ante los Cleveland Browns por marcador de 26-24 los Carolina Panthers buscarán conseguir su primera victoria de la campaña cuando se midan en la Semana 2 a los New York Giants.
En el primer partido Carolina reaciconó de gran manera en la segunda mitad luego de batallar mucho al inicio del encuentro con un par de fallas de comunicación y concentración. Para el segundo medio remontaron un déficit de 13 puntos en contra anotando 17 unidades en el último cuarto y tomando una ventaja tardía de 24-23 quedando 1:13 en el tanteador, pero con un gol de campo de 58 yardas el pateador novato de Cleveland, Cade York, sentenció el duelo a favor de los visitantes.
Para este compromiso entrante Carolina se medirá a un equipo que viene de sorprender al superar como visitantes 21-20 a los Tennessee Titans en el primer partido de la temporada, con el corredor Saquon Barkley protagonizando el ataque "gigante" con 24 toques de balón, 194 yardas totales y una anotación.
¿QUÉ ESPERAR DEL PARTIDO?
Panthers deberá enfocarse en mejorar la defensa por tierra este domingo para poder competir en New York, luego haber permitido 217 yardas en este rubro en el encuentro pasado creadas por la peligrosa dupla de corredores Nick Chubb-Kareem Hunt.
Defensivamente Carolina deberá encontrar la manera de generar presión al mariscal de campo de 4to año y nativo de Charlotte, NC Daniel Jones, forzándolo a situaciones de tercera oportunidad y largo para incomodar el paso de la nueva ofensiva encabezada por entrenador en jefe novato Brian Daboll.
Para el ataque felino se espera un aumento en los toques de balón del corredor Christian McCaffrey quien terminó el pasado encuentro con 14 intervenciones, 57 yardas y un touchdown.
Seguir mejorando la química entre el QB Baker Mayfield y sus compañeros será fundamental, para muestra lo realizado en el último cuarto del pasado partido donde Mayfield concluyó con un rating de pasador perfecto de 158.3.
En cuanto al reporte de lesiones solo el WR Andre Roberts está descartado al haber sido colocado en reserva de lesionados con un problema en la rodilla, con lo que el rol de Shi Smith y Laviska Shenault podrán verse incrementados en equipos especiales regresando patadas tras su ausencia.

El historial marca que en 12 enfrentamientos totales Panthers tiene un balance a favor contra Giants de 7-5, con 4 de ellos ganados y 3 perdidos en duelos celebrados en New York.
