Charlotte FC, the expansion franchise of MLS, kicked off its inaugural season at Bank of America Stadium on March 5, 2022.

The soccer club was announced in December 2019 after David Tepper and MLS commissioner Don Garber held a formal celebration in Uptown Charlotte.

The stadium has also hosted and continues to be the home for other soccer events.

In the summer of 2022, Charlotte FC will host Chelsea from the English Premier League. Click here for more information.

In 2019, a pair of qualifying matches for the CONCACAF Gold Cup were held here with the Mexican National team taking center stage. That team then chose Bank of America Stadium for one of its venues for the #MexTour.

In October 2019, the U.S. Women's National team played a friendly here as part of its World Cup champions tour through the country.
