Soccer in Bank of America Stadium

Soccer has found a home in Bank of America Stadium.

On December 17, 2019, Major League Soccer announced that Charlotte would be the home to the 30th MLS franchise. Charlotte's team will play matches at Bank of America Stadium, starting in 2022. The team's name, Charlotte FC, and colors and crest were revealed on July 22, 2020.

The stadium has also hosted and continues to be the home for other soccer events, including the International Champions Cup which recently announced a five-year deal through 2024. Clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool have played in the stadium as part of the cup in years past.

In 2019, a pair of qualifying matches for the CONCACAF Gold Cup were held here with the Mexican National team taking center stage. That team then chose Bank of America Stadium for one of its venues for the #MexTour.

In October 2019, the U.S. Women's National team played a friendly here as part of its World Cup champions tour through the country.
