With Arizona, Wilson last served as the vice president of pro personnel (2021-22), including as co-interim general manager for the remainder of the 2022 season following General Manager Steve Keim's leave of absence. Joining the Cardinals front office as part of the Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship (2015), Wilson then began assisting both the pro and college scouting departments full-time later that year, before working as director of pro scouting (2019-20).
Last offseason (2022), Wilson was selected to represent the Arizona Cardinals at the NFL-Stanford League of Leaders executive education program. A partnership between the NFL and Stanford Graduate School of Business, the program's objective is to accelerate the leadership development of the NFL's senior-level talent.
A member of the Cardinals Ring of Honor (inducted during the 2015 season), Wilson, a five-time team captain, spent 13 seasons (2001-13) in the NFL with the Cardinals and Patriots after entering as a third-round selection (64th overall) in the 2001 NFL Draft.
A five-time Pro Bowl selection (2006, 2008-11) and three-time All-Pro (2006, 2008-09), he finished his NFL career with 987 tackles (716 solo), 25.5 sacks, 27 interceptions, 106 passes defensed, 15 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries and four touchdowns in 181 regular season games (162 starts). Wilson is one of just six players in NFL history (Ronde Barber, Brian Dawkins, Rodney Harrison, Ray Lewis, William Thomas) with at least 25 sacks and 25 interceptions in their career, while his 25.5 career sacks are fourth-best total among defensive backs and his eight sacks (2005) were then a single-season high for a defensive back.
A two-year starter at North Carolina State (1999-2000), Wilson recorded 254 total tackles (144 solo) and 11 stops behind the line of scrimmage in 33 games for the Wolfpack. He also added three interceptions and 11 pass deflections in 23 career starts before entering the NFL Draft following his junior season.
He garnered All-Guilford County honors from the Greensboro News and Record at T.W. Andrews (High Point, NC) High School, where in June of 2010, he had his jersey number (9) retired.
Wilson majored in parks, recreation, and tourism management.
