CHARLOTTE – The Panthers on Friday placed defensive end Stephen Weatherly and running back Reggie Bonnafon on the reserve/injured list. Both will miss the rest of the season.

Weatherly, who injured his finger in last week's loss to the Chiefs, had surgery on Friday. With Weatherly out, Yetur Gross-Matos, Marquis Haynes Sr., Efe Obada and Austin Larkin could see an uptick in snaps.

Bonnafon re-joined the active roster Wednesday after missing the past five games with a high ankle sprain. But he re-injured the ankle this week in practice, and because this is his second time on the reserve/injured list this season, he can not be activated again.

After joining the Panthers as an undrafted rookie out of Louisville in 2018, Bonnafon has played in 18 games with 160 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns, including a score and 71 total yards in a Week 4 win over the Cardinals.

The Panthers' active roster currently stands at 51 players.
