Steve Smith, Sr.

Steve Smith, Sr. finished his career as Carolina's all-time best wide receiver and return man. He is the franchise's all-time leader in career receiving yards (12,197), receiving touchdowns (67), total touchdowns (75), scrimmage yards (12,584), all-purpose yards (16,614) and 100-yard receiving games (43).

Smith set a franchise record for most receiving yards in a season (1,563, 2005), tied for second in touchdowns in a season (12) and second in receptions in a season (103). 

A five-time Pro Bowler, Smith finished his 16-year career with 14,731 total receiving yards with the Panthers and Ravens, ranking eighth all-time in NFL history at the time of his retirement.

A fiery competitor, Smith created memories of incredible plays and heart-stopping moments. In 2003, he caught a 69-yard touchdown pass for a walk-off divisional round playoff win in double overtime in St. Louis. In 2005, he tallied 218 receiving yards and two touchdowns in a playoff win at Chicago, posting the fifth-highest receiving total in a playoff game in NFL history.

Smith was inducted into the Hall of Honor on October 6, 2019.
