CHARLOTTE — The Panthers added some experience and depth on defense Saturday, in advance of Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Defensive end LaBryan Ray, who began practice this week, was activated from injured reserve.
Ray has played 33 games the last two years, and started nine last season. He adds some needed depth on the defensive line, which will be without Tershawn Wharton this week, as he's out with a toe injury.
Ray was originally listed as questionable on this week's injury report, but that was a reference to his roster status rather than injury status. He's healthy and ready to go.

The Panthers also called up linebacker Krys Barnes from the practice squad by standard elevation for Week 5.
Barnes will add some depth on special teams and brings some significant experience on defense as well.
The 27-year-old has 68 games played in the league, with 30 starts during his time with the Packers and Cardinals.
