CHARLOTTE — The Panthers had to make a practice squad move on Tuesday, after yet another one of their own practice squaders was signed to another team's 53-man roster.
The team signed cornerback Michael Reid to the practice squad, bringing him back for a second stint.
Reid was signed here as an undrafted rookie from South Dakota and was on the practice squad until he was released in late October. In the interim, he spent some time on the Seahawks practice squad in November.
They needed the reinforcements since the Cardinals signed cornerback Kalen King from the practice squad to their 53-man roster on Tuesday.
King becomes the fifth Panthers practice squader to be signed away this season. That's tied for the league lead with (coincidentally, not ironically; words matter) Arizona. King was signed to the active roster here for one game this season, playing on special teams in the win over the Rams.
The Panthers have also lost defensive tackle Sam Roberts (Atlanta), offensive lineman Jarrett Kingston (Houston), running back Deejay Dallas (Jacksonville), and outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon (Pittsburgh) from their practice squad to other teams this year.
