CHARLOTTE – The Panthers made several roster moves on Wednesday, adding two players to the active roster and signing two to the practice squad.

Center Brian Folkerts and wide receiver Marvin McNutt were signed to the 53-man roster. Folkerts was signed off the team's practice squad and McNutt – a sixth-round draft choice by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2012 – was signed off the Miami Dolphins' practice squad.

The Panthers signed linebacker Ben Jacobs – who was elevated from the practice squad on Saturday and waived on Monday – back to the practice squad. Linebacker Jeff Tarpinian – who played 10 games with the New England Patriots over the last two seasons – was also signed to the practice squad.

Left guard Amini Silatolu suffered a season-ending knee injury against the Arizona Cardinals and Jeff Byers, who was the backup center, now becomes the primary backup at both guard spots behind right guard Chris Scott and left guard Travelle Wharton.

Folkerts' will provide depth behind center Ryan Kalil. He began the season on Carolina's 53-man roster and was inactive for the first two games before being waived and signed to the practice squad.

McNutt played in four games and did not record any statistics in addition to spending time on the Eagles' practice squad as a rookie. He finished his college career at Iowa with 170 receptions for 2,861 yards and 28 touchdowns.
