Panthers sign 15 to future deals

RosterMoves

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers made their first additions of the offseason, signing 15 players to future contracts for the coming season.

Of the group, 12 were members of the practice squad this season, so they're known commodities to the coaching staff.

The group includes safety Demani Richardson, who started four games last season and the Rams game this year, and linebacker Mapalo Mwansa, the English native who came here as part of the league's International Player Pathway program.

The Carolina Panthers practice on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025 at Bank Of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC.

They also signed three players who haven't been here previously, including linebacker Jared Bartlett, cornerback Tyrek Funderburk, and guard Joshua Gray.

Bartlett, an undrafted rookie from Cincinnati, spent most of last year on the Cardinals practice squad, but appeared in two games. Funderburk, who grew up in Indian Trail, N.C., and went to Appalachian State, played 13 games for the Buccaneers in 2024 and was on the Vikings practice squad last year. Gray, from Oregon State, spent last year on the Falcons practice squad.

This was the time of year when they signed wide receiver Brycen Tremayne a year ago, and he became a valuable contributor on special teams and offense throughout the season.
