After last week's trade for quarterback Sam Darnold, the mock draft prognosticators largely switched up their predictions for Carolina's first round. The attention now seems to be focused on the offensive line and secondary.

Writing for NFL.com, Peter Schrager predicts a Penei Sewell pick at No. 8, while PFF's Sam Monson and Draft Network's Trevor Sikkema opted for the other big-name offensive tackle, Rashawn Slater.

Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports and Joe Person of The Athletic both predict that the Panthers will trade back in the first round and take a defensive back. Wilson mocked Greg Newsome II from Northwestern and Person tabbed Jaycee Horn from South Carolina.

In Mel Kiper Jr.'s new mock draft for ESPN, he predicts Alabama wideout Devonta Smith to come to Carolina.
